MTN Yemen sponsored the annual global anniversary of "Hand Washing Day" on the 15th of October. The event was carried out by the Ministry of Education under the slogan "Your health is in clean hands".
Mr. Mohammed Hadi Tawaf, Deputy Ministry of Education, spoke of the importance of washing one's hands with both soap and water. From his side, the Director of the School Health Office in the Ministry of Education announced that the event would signal the start of hundreds of future activities. In addition, the UNICEF Representative in Yemen declared that the celebration was the culmination of a week of public activities that stressed the importance of washing hands with soap and water in schools across the governorates of the Republic. The two million students who were targeted through these awareness activities are expected to carry on this behavior and spread it to their families.
At the end of the ceremony, MTN Yemen was awarded with a trophy in recognition of its efforts as the main sponsor of the event.
