The Ministry of Education and the Deputy CEO of the Company Signed a Support Agreement for Launching the Satellite Broadcasting of the Education Channel

On Monday, 25.02.2013 AD, the Minister of Education, Dr. Abdul Razzaq Al Ashoul, signed with the Deputy CEO of MTN Yemen Telecommunications Company, Mr. Ali Abdul Warith, a support agreement for launching the Education Channel for an amount of 77 million and 500 thousand Riyals. Mr. Ali Abdul Warith indicated that the company supported three projects which serve the educational field. The first project focused on professional development of educators by merging technology with education. It shall be executed over a period of two years and the company shall contribute 50% of the project expenses, estimated at around 170 million Riyals. The second project focused on providing educational plants for schools at a cost of 30 million Riyals; whereas the third project focused on contributing in supporting more girls living in rural areas to participate in their educational and professional development at a cost of 50 million Riyals.

The total support granted by the Company and the MTN Charity Organization to the Ministry of Education reached an amount of (300) three hundred million Yemeni Riyals. This step was well received by the Minister of Education, the Deputy Minister, and a number of undersecretaries and concerned parties.
