MTN Yemen wins the investment award as the best telecommunication company in Yemen .
Recognizes Mr Hossam Saad ,the Commercial General Director MTN Yemen , recieved the investment award for the best telecommunication company in Yemen for the year 2013, on Thursday February 13, 2013 AD; during the ceremony that took place on this occasion , which was attended by Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Mohsen Al Nakib and Dr / Fares Saqqaf the President's adviser and Professor / Mahboob Ali Advisor to the President for media Affairs and Mr. / Mohammed Abdu Said, head of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry .
Dr. / Abd Alkawi Adini president of "Moustathmer" company presented a speech welcoming the attendees in which he explained the criteria for selecting companies twentieth winner as the best investment companies in the year 2013. He said, adding that the idea began in 2007 and stopped compulsory for two years before being resumed this year , revealing - at the same time - that the next version of the award will be in accordance with international standards so as to expand the award from the local to global scale .
For his part, Mr. / Mohammed Abdo Saeed urged the private sector to do more asking the goverment to support the national partnership and expand the investment . Adding that he had no fear of the private sector in the event of his role in the establishment of the country's infrastructure and that there is no problem in growing this role , stressing that the private sector is looking forward to the security and stability, which is the essential foundation which must be the priority for the current stage . Concerning the investment award, Mr Said underlined that it succeeded in introducing private sector companies and the award proved the pivotal role played by these companies in pushing the cycle of development and growth. As a conclusion, Mr Said stressed on the President's given directions supporting the private sector to invest in Yemen, pointing out that the private sector is looking forward to a real partnership with the government side in order to play its part and the real actor in the development process in the country.
For his part and on behalf of the private sector companies, Mr Aadel Al Ahdal addressed the attendees concerning the aspirations of the private sector to build a strong partnership with the government side also pointed to the most important obstacles and challenges facing investment in Yemen, that are topped by the security issues. This point was aslo mentioned by the Saudi German group vice president Dr. / Khaled Batterjee , reviewing the growth of the Gulf countries investments in Yemen, stressing that the lack of security will strongly affect any real investment opportunities in Yemen, revealing the investments to come to the group, including: the establishment of medical university.
On the government side, Mr Mohsn Al Nakib Deputy Minister of Industry and Commerce welcomed the attendees and congratulated the winners of the investment award, stressing in his speech that the relationship between the government and the private sector will witness a clear progress following the directions set by the president. Mr Mohsn also pointed out that the accession to the World Trade Organization will serve to invest in Yemen and especially by the private sector companies, which must play its role under the social responsibility umbrella.
On behalf of the President, Mr Mahboub Ali, Advisor to the President for Media Affairs, welcomed the attendees, reminding that this event coincides with the third anniversary of the revolution of the youth of Yemen, which is a historic event dignified, and coincides this event - also - with the conclusion of the national dialogue conference. "Everyone is looking forward to a state of stability and investment and that it is time that everyone stands responsible and assume their national responsibilities in building Yemen and overcome obstacles." He explained that everyone welcomes investments, investors, and they all would urge care and ensure fairness and impartiality and corruption. As a closure, the winners were greeted, wishing them a positive boost to their future projects.
Led by MTN's best telecommunications companie in Yemen in 2013, the winners were honored at the end of the ceremony. It is worth noting that MTN won the same award for the year 2009.
Honorees then went directly to meet with the President of the Republic.
